Our annual Wildflower Issue pays homage to the colorful denizens that decorate Texas’ landscape. For our cover story, “A Botanical Guide to Texas Wildflowers,” writer Robyn Ross picked out five blooming stars from among the 2,700 species of state wildflowers. The guide details the history of these wildflowers, how they support our ecosystem, and the best spots to view them.⁠ ⁠ In “Blossoms in the Sky,” writer Asher Elbein takes a higher view of the state’s blooms, highlighting Texas’ flowering trees.
